Children in Care
Voop is the safeguarding infrastructure for children and young people in care.
It’s designed to help children build healthy, lifelong digital habits. We aim to do this by providing children with a smartphone that is safer by design, and by empowering guardians to help keep children safe through a safeguarding platform.
Voop works on a regular phone, with a child-facing app that works like any other network provider’s. For a child in care, a phone that looks and feels like everyone else's means they don’t feel different every time they open it.
We don’t spy on children by reading their messages, recording what they do on their smartphone or by breaking end to end encryption. We believe in being transparent with children, and we are not trying to do anything behind their backs. We provide a child-facing user interface that answers "what can my guardian see”. A flat, honest list of categories, explaining why. If something is blocked or restricted, we explain why, not lead them to a dead end.
